(KTNC) - It’s snowing again in the tri-state area, with two to four inches of accumulation expected. The wintry weather may affect New Year travel plans.
If you’re planning to travel to a New Year’s Eve party, you can check on road conditions before you venture out onto the highway.
Updated road conditions in Nebraska are available online at www.511.nebraska.gov, or by dialing 5-1-1 from any cellular or landline telephone.
If you’re traveling in northwest Missouri, MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map is available at www.modot.org/northwest. The site offers real-time views of road conditions for all state highways and interstates.
For smart phone and tablet users, MoDOT’s updated Traveler Information Map App provides the same information to mobile devices. The app is available at the iPhone App Store and the Android Marketplace.
Kansas road conditions are available online at www.Kandrive.org, or by dialing 5-1-1 from any telephone.
The Missouri Department of Transportation cautions that even light amounts of precipitation can cause roads to become slick with snow or ice.
