The Nebraska State Patrol reminds motorist to keep up-to-date on the latest weather conditions as a winter storm with potential to impact travel makes its way across the Midwest.
Anyone with travel plans is urged to make sure they understand the conditions they could be encountering. A storm this unpredictable could present a challenge for everyone on the road. Often the best plan is to delay travel until the weather has moved through.”
Travelers can check on road closures and conditions by utilizing 511 the Nebraska’s advanced traveler information system. The system can be accessed via the internet at www.511.nebraska.gov or by dialing 511 from any cellular phone or landline. As conditions change motorists are reminded to:
· Adjust vehicle speeds and never travel faster than conditions allow.

· Allow extra distance to react to others around you.
· Exercise caution on bridges and overpasses.
