(KAIR) -- Medical Department Activity and Munson Army Health Center Commander Col. Emery Fehl will host the Army Wellness Center ribbon cutting and Army Medicine Healthcare Covenant signing Wednesday morning.
It will be at nine at Blockberger Terrace on Kearney Ave.
The Army Wellness Center at Fort Leavenworth is a collaborative project between Fort Leavenworth, the Combined Arms Center, the Army Public Health Command and Munson Army Health Center.
The Fort Leavenworth Army Wellness Center is one of 38 centers planned throughout the world.
The model of the AWC is to promote health and wellness in a proactive manner.
The centers focus on health assessments, physical fitness, healthy nutrition, stress management, general wellness education and tobacco education.
The programs at the centers are free for soldiers, retirees, family members and Department of Defense civilians.
The Army Medicine Healthcare Covenant is a commitment by the U.S. Army Medical Command and local leaders recognizing the need for the health, wellness and resilience of the force and family members.
