(KAIR) -- As a way to honor military veterans and raise awareness for veterans’ programs, a weekend of events and music, featuring some big names, is coming to Leavenworth Friday & Saturday.
It kicks off Friday evening at six with a bike show and salute showdown at 10th Avenue Park.
The first annual Freedomfest concert will run from two until nine Saturday.
Volunteer Coordinator Lisa Smelserkramer says the idea for the event came from two military wives.
