(KTNC) - Nebraska Third District Congressman Adrian Smith stopped in Falls City Thursday. Smith met with a group of local bankers for about an hour at the Falls City EDGE and Chamber of Commerce office.
Smith says he’s been meeting with bankers, business people, and others in the financial services industry about tax reform. (play audio :23)
Smith says it’s important to simplify what he calls a “cumbersome” tax code…though he doesn’t say specifically what reforms he favors. (play audio :28)
Though he says it won't be an easy task, Smith says he feels there is bipartisan support for simplifying the tax code. He co-chairs the Tax Reform Working Group of the House Ways and Means Committee with John Larson of Connecticut.
