(KLZA) None of the individuals involved in an accident involving an Auburn Public School bus and a pickup appeared to have serious injuries when an accident occurred Monday afternoon.
The Nemaha County, Nebraska Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of the accident, about 4:45 p-m. The accident occurred west of Nemaha at the intersection of 725 Road and 642 Avenue.
The 2003 Freightliner school bus was driven by Alan Riggins of Auburn and was northbound on 642 Avenue when it was struck in the side by an eastbound 1999 Dodge Dakota driven by Hezekiah Santana of Auburn.
Santana was the only occupant of the pickup and there were two students on the school bus. All of those involved were transported by the Nemaha Rescue Squad to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn to be checked.
According to the Sheriff’s Office report failure of the pickup to yield the right of way to the school bus at the intersection where there was a STOP sign was the major cause of the collision.
