She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Troy, Kansas, where she was the organist since 1964.

Lloyd was born on October 18, 1924 in Holdrege, Nebraska to James F. and Ruth (Young) Hamilton. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He and his wife lived all of their married life in Wathena where Lloyd worked for and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.
