Seneca Veterans Banners Displayed Downtown on Main
Last year NCEMS students raised money to honor their long-time, beloved janitor Mr. Steve Honeyman, after his untimely passing. Afterwards 6th-8th students walked downtown to see Mr. Honeyman’s military banner and other community members' too.
The community of Seneca is proud to see the banners displayed throughout downtown Seneca, for the second year, honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.
A huge thank-you to the City of Seneca Kansas for getting all the banners up for the year! Thanks also goes to the Nemaha County STEP Foundation for the grant that allowed the additions of nine new brackets and expand the project to a total of 28 banners on display this year.
Thank you to the families and, of course, the Veterans for their service and sacrifice.
And a special shoutout to the Nemaha County Historical Society for creating the Purple Heart Walk, which honors 39 of Nemaha County’s Purple Heart recipients through informational posters displayed in downtown business windows.
