Seneca Business Raises Funds for Local Foster Families

Seneca Business owner collects funds for the local foster care program.

Clara Rienecke told KMZA radio that last summer, one of her employees brought to her attention that the local foster care program would benefit from added local assistance.

They made the decision to establish "intentional giving second Saturdays" at The Market on Main. Clara said "We felt like as a business we are approached often to give to a lot of really amazing local programs, but it can be a bit overwhelming. We wanted to make sure that we were giving in a way that was truly helping our community."

Intentional giving is a program in which 20% of what they take in on second Saturdays is given to the local foster care director to assist with immediate needs. In addition, they leave a jar on the counter for anybody wanting to just make donations while shopping any other time. They hope that this is something that is helping the program to buy things that are needed at once.

As the holiday time is drawing near, they are planning a raffle to make additional money. This program was set up to be able to give back to something that’s important in our community.
