Scott Wayne Dryden, age 59, of Atchison, KS, passed unexpectedly on October 26, 2025.
Services to remember and celebrate Scott's life will be on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Lucas officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Cummings Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Atchison Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Cremation care entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Scott was born on September 1, 1966, in Atchison, KS, the son of James Scott Dryden and Brenda (Bomberger) Dryden. He is a graduate of Atchison County Community High School. He and Anna Marshall dated for over twelve years and were married in May of 2004 and have enjoyed spending over thirty years together.
Scott began his employment at the Atchison Achievement services and also performed numerous odd jobs that needed done while working there. He worked as an assembler at Fargo for a few years and then in the Janitorial Department at Amberwell Atchison until his health recently forced him into retirement.
He was a collector of many things including antiques and pottery. He enjoyed cooking, spending his free time fishing and spoiling his dogs. Scott was able to make a couple trips to the beach in Florida and that became one of his favorite attractions. Scott's favorite holiday was Halloween, and he celebrated most every year by helping the Northeast Kansas Railroaders as the "Pumpkin Head" with their annual Halloween train ride.
He is survived by his wife Anna Dryden; his mother, Brenda Dryden; a sister, Sheli Cook; a brother Darrin (Jennifer) Dryden; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a great nephew, Kipton Scott Bowen.
