Kevin James Fangman, 49, of Manhattan, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home in Manhattan.
He was born on May 13, 1976 in Seneca, Kansas, the third son of Eugene and Nancy (Hammes) Fangman. He graduated from B & B High School in 1994. He graduated from Manhattan Vo-Tech where he studied automotive technology.
Kevin worked as an auto mechanic for over 20 years at various businesses in Manhattan, Deby and Wichita. At the time of his death, he operated his own shop in Manhattan.
Kevin enjoyed anything and everything to do with racing and hot rods. He made many memories and lifelong friends over the years when he participated in Drag Week with his 1972 Chevy Nova.
Survivors include his father, Eugene Fangman of Seneca; brothers, Gary (DeeAnn) Fangman of Seneca, Brian (Denise) Fangman of Keats, and Randy Fangman of Topeka; step-father, Robert Uphaus of Topeka; and one niece, Nicole Fangman of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Uphaus, and grandparents, George and Aurelia Fangman and Leonard and Anna Hammes.
Cremation has already taken place. The family will be at the church at 9:00 A.M. with a rosary to start at 9:30 A.M at St. Mary's Church on Friday, October 24, 2025, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, St. Benedict, Kansas.
