Marceil Elizabeth Dressman, 85, of Seneca, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 16, 1940, the daughter of Cyril and Frances (Wessel) Stallbaumer. Marceil was born and raised on a family farm southwest of St. Benedict. The family moved in 1942 to her grandpa Henry Wessel farm south of St. Benedict. She grew up there and attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Benedict, Kansas in 1958. She worked as a secretary for the U.S. Soil Conservation Department in Seneca, Kansas.

Marceil married Clarence H. Dressman on April 30, 1960. Clarence preceded her in death on January 22, 1998. They lived and farmed southwest of Baileyville on the Dressman farm. Marceil and Clarence had three children Lora, Diane and Steven.

Marceil helped run the family farm with Clarence in Baileyville until 1972 when they purchased land in Red Cloud, Nebraska. There they operated a grain and livestock farm until 1989. Returning to Seneca in 1991, Marceil worked at Valentino's Pizza. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, reading, working on puzzles and making homemade pies for her family. Marceil was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, Kansas, and a member of the St. Ann's Altar Society.

Marceil is preceded in death by her husband Clarence, parents Cyril and Frances Stallbaumer, sister Carol Keegan, son-in-law Jim Ballard, and by an infant daughter, Helen on July 16, 1963.

She is survived by her children Lora Ballard of Omaha, Nebraska; Diane Bauer and husband Jason of Round Rock, Texas; Steven Dressman and wife Teresa of Superior, Nebraska.

Marceil was a loving grandma to five grandchildren: Adam BallaRd of Omaha, Nebraska; Zachary Dressman and wife Katie of Superior, Nebraska; Rachel Ballard and husband Thomas Springhower, Jr., of Omaha, Nebraska; Claire Hanneman and husband Brett of Gretna, Nebraska; Jared Dressman and wife Courtney of Charleston, West Virginia. 2 brothers, Charles Stallbaumer of Centralia, Kansas, and Dennis Stallbaumer of Seneca, Kansas, Three sisters, Janice Haverkamp of Seneca, Kansas, Sue Speilman of Seneca, Kansas, and Sr. Rose Marie Stallbaumer O.S.B. of Atchison, Kansas. She also has three great grandchildren: Samuel Ballard, Sebastian and Vivian Hanneman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be at the church cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, October 24 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kansas or Nemaha County Home Health and Hospice, Sabetha, Kansas in memory of Marceil.
