Donald Floyd Merz, 57, of Horton, Kansas, passed away suddenly while at work at the Sac and Fox Casino, on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

He was born on June 25, 1968, at the Horton Hospital, the son of Floyd and Karen Ford Merz.

After Don graduated from Horton High School in joined the U.S. Army National Guard. Don worked in the maintenance department for the Sac and Fox Casino for twenty-eight years.

He enjoyed bird watching, storm chasing, metal detecting and just being there for his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Merz, three brothers, Bob Merz, David (Tracy) Merz and Dean (Tonya) Merz, sister, Diana Merz Keaton, stepmother, Sue (Dennis) Mowry and a lot of nieces and nephews.

Don had a huge heart and a personality a person will never forget.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. at the Horton Cemetery on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
