Billy Joe "Bill" Boyett, 69, of Holton, KS, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born August 21, 1956 in Topeka Kansas, the son of Howard J. and Faye J. (Stachelbeck) Boyett.

Bill graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1975. Bill often spoke with pride of how important it was to know his family roots in Theodore, Alabama. Southern life to Bill, was more than manners, it was a way of life rooted in warmth, generosity and making people feel at home. He showed what it meant to treat strangers like friends, friends like family, and making sure no one leaves the table hungry or without a smile. He always said, "I have a lot of good people in my life." Those values carried over into his dedication of his business. He proudly owned and began in 1985, Boyett Sales & Service. Even in his final days, he still answered calls and ran his antique store BJ's flea market.

Bill was previously married to Cherryl Ann Lawrence; with whom he shared his children. He leaves behind Camillia Ann Karns (Karmen) of Circleville, KS 2 sons, Colbee Joe Boyett (Katie), KS and Grahamm Jacob Boyett (Rachel) of Auburn, KS and 9 grandchildren, Korbin (19) Coralynn (17) Reed (13) Ruby (13) Trennyn (16) Alden (13) Clara (16) Abbigail (14) Lydia (12).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Faye Boyett and a brother, Terry Boyett.

Bill will lie in state September 22 and September 23, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery.
