Lola Jean (Olson) Wilhelm, 84, of Lincoln, Nebraska was born on September 26, 1940, in Ellendale, North Dakota to Lawrence and Betty (Peek) Olson. She was raised in Humboldt, Nebraska where she received her schooling and attended Humboldt High School. On June 7, 1958, Lola was united in marriage to Larry Wilhelm at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in rural Verdon, Nebraska. To this union three children, Bonnie, Rodney, and Ryan were born. The couple raised their family in Lincoln, Nebraska where Lola worked as a Tupperware salesperson later becoming a Tupperware Manager. She also worked various jobs including Montgomery Wards, Russ's IGA, and Stouffer's to name a few. She then owned and operated her own Daycare. Lola loved working with her "daycare kids", playing cards, going to the casino, and collecting Beanie Babies. But most of all, Lola loved spending time with all of her family and friends.
Lola passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Hillcrest Firethorn in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-four years, ten months, and four days. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Betty Olson; brothers Jerry and Lonnie Olson, her sister Betty Pruett, and brother-in-law Bob Carpenter.
Lola is survived by her loving husband Larry Wilhelm, children: Bonnie Hall, Rodney and Ryan Wilhelm, grandchildren: David Wilhelm (Kris Despain), Deanna (Steve) Hale, Javelin (Desiree) DeCoteau, great-grandchildren: DeCota, Jorden (Mary), Savanna, Rylie, Drakan, Kaylei, and Kiora, great-great-grandchildren: Everly, Grayson, and Caroline, siblings: Lenora "Boogie" (Loren) Glathar, Lana Carpenter, David (Sandy) Olson, and Ina (Kevin) Reddick, sisters-in-law Carol and Kathy Olson, and brother-in-law "Bud" Pruett, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Jerry Schmid officiating. Inurnment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt.
A register book will be available for signing from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family's choice with a later designation.
