Obituaries Announcements
Clare Beth Bachman, 64, of Humboldt, Nebraska passed away Friday July 4,2025 at Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on December 16, 1960, in Valentine, Nebraska to Russell and Clara "Joyce" (Seaton) Wood.
Clare was raised in North Platte, Nebraska where she graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1979. She went on to get her bachelor's degree in education from Hastings college and taught elementary education in Hastings for many years. Clare completed her master's degree at Doane University, Summa Cum Laude, before moving to Hiawatha, Kansas where she taught middle school in the Hiawatha area. She pursued her entrepreneurial dreams and opened a home decor boutique, JC Works, in Hiawatha. Clare retired from teaching to pursue yet another business adventure and in 2016, opened the Titan Diner in Humboldt, Nebraska.
No matter the passion, Clare always put her whole self into everything she did. She loved being outdoors, gardening barefoot in the sun. Clare never had any human children of her own, but if you knew her, you know her 'kids' were her world. Clare always had a house full of dogs, whom she referred to as her kids, and she wouldn't have allowed it to be any other way. She woke before the sun each and every day with a full to-do list and rarely didn't accomplish what needed to be done. Her heart and soul went into everything around her; Clare was a force to be reckoned with. She effortlessly left a lasting impression on all of our lives. Whether you've known her for all of yours, or just a short time, you know that Clare lived her life caring deeply and loving fiercely.
Clare is survived by her beloved partner, Gene Naber; her stepsons Cody and Spencer Naber; sister Cathy (Gary Twidwell) Wood; niece, Toni Bargell; and nephew David Bargell. She is preceded in death by her mother, Clara "Joyce" McNeal; and sisters Connie and Carol Wood.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska with Dorothy Smith officiating. A livestream broadcast of Clare's service will be available on our Wherry Mortuary/Monument Face Book page.
