Faye Lorene (Witt) Dappen, 83, of Falls City, Nebraska passed away on June 8, 2025, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Faye was born on June 16, 1941, in Falls City to Alice and Harvey Witt. She attended Richardson County School District #83 for 8-years, graduated from Falls City High School with the class of 1959, and then graduated from business college in Omaha in 1960. In childhood, Faye participated in 4-H and played bass drum for the Falls City High School marching band. Faye was on the Falls City High School Alumni Association and had been President of the Dawson-Verdon Booster Club and ball board. Faye was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church, later became a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church and transferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Faye married Theodore Dappen in 1960. They were together 24 years and 5 children came from this union. Identical twins Craig and Donald, Stephen, Cynthia, and Jennifer. Faye was with Donald Harmon for 25 years until Don's death in 2009. Faye was a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She managed seed corn sales and the family farm outside of Dawson. Faye held various accounting and secretarial jobs over her career including 14 years at the Falls City Meat Company. Later she worked at Southeast Nebraska Developmental Services and worked as a bartender and waitress. Faye will be missed for her cooking, crafting, and love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Alice Witt; brother Wayne Witt, twin sons Craig Eugene and Donald Lee, and significant other Donald Harmon.
Faye is survived by her children: Stephen (Linda) Dappen, Cynthia (Jimmy) Bauman, Jennifer (Jerry) Rathmann, four grandchildren: Mitchell Campbell (significant other Megan Moyer and son Ethan), Chelsae (Nik) Kopf, Shane Campbell (fiancé Aly Bangert), and Zachary Petry. Four step-grandchildren: Melissa Gaggens, Adam Gaggens, Gage (Courtney) Butner, and Braxtyn Bauman, one great-grandson Quintin Campbell, six step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church at 20th & Towle street in Falls City with Joanna Kathol officiating. A graveside inurnment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Maple Cemetery in Salem, Nebraska.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family's choice with a later designation.
