Carol Marie Macierowski

Carol Marie Macierowski, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday June 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Carol was born on January 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh, CA. She married and moved to Kansas in 1963 and began her family. After being widowed, she moved to Atchison, KS bought her home, and decided to enroll at Benedictine College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in history and met the love of her life Doctor Edward Macierowski. They married and grew their family from there throughout the next almost 30 years of their marriage.

Carol is survived by 10 children, 22 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren who will forever carry the lasting impact she had on their lives. She will also be fondly remembered by her best furry friend, Puppy. Known for sharing her intellect with all willing to engage, sewing skills, love of reading, early career catering and planning weddings, baking and decorating beautiful wedding cakes and wedding dresses. Carol was also very skilled in ceramics with a favorite past time of going to Ora Mae's ceramic shop in Atchison with her friends and family. Carol created a home full of children and had a passion for history, Victorian homes, gardening, and the occasional margarita (or 3!).

Carol's advice touched all who knew her (solicited or not �), so there was never a dull moment and always something she felt she could teach you with each interaction she had.

A rosary will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come together and share stories, laughter, and celebrate Carol. Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, June 13th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict Church with burial to follow at Reno Cemetery in Tonganoxie, KS. Memorial may be left to St. Benedict Catholic School or the Atchison Humane Society in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
