Eric Daniel Froeschl
Dorr and Clark Funeral Home of Falls City
Rulo, NE

Eric Daniel Froeschl, age 45, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Falls City, Nebraska, surrounded by his family. He was born April 4, 1980, to Barbara and Daniel Froeschl.

He graduated from Falls City Sacred Heart in 1998. After high school he attended Southeast Community College at Milford earning his Associates Degree in Building Construction Technology in March 2000.

He returned to Falls City and began a life-long career in entrepreneurship beginning with the formation of Froeschl Construction. At the time of his passing, he was well-known as the owner and operator of The Would Eye Bar and Grill and Eric Froeschl Construction. In 2020 The Would Eye was named the Small Business of the Year by the Falls City Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street.

Eric is survived by his three wonderful children: Elle and James Froeschl from his marriage to Katie Keithley, and Kole Schawang from his relationship to Wendy Schawang. He also leaves behind his devoted mom, Barbara Froeschl; his siblings, Adam (Julie) Froeschl, Jenny (Joe) Dunn, Nathan Froeschl, and Julie (Mitch) Sailors. His antics will be missed by nieces and nephews Max, Jake and Rob Froeschl; Chaz (Elizabeth and Kamren) Dunn, Libby (Vince and Archie) Dean and Sam Dunn; Jaxton Froeschl; and Cal, Parker and Birdie Sailors; as well as Tyler Witt, John Fagan, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and "millions of friends."

Nicknamed "Goofy" by these "millions of friends," he was known for his generosity. Whether he was donating to local organizations or making sure The Would Eye was open and serving homecooked meals to patrons on every holiday, he will forever be remembered for his kind heart. One of his favorite annual events was Veterans Day when he had the opportunity to provide a complementary meal for all of those who served in the military.

He was an avid buyer of random, useless treasures found at the many garage sales and auctions he could never pass up. Some of these can be found adorning the walls and ceilings at the bar, many of which were also sold during his brief stint as owner of his thrift store, Froesh Finds, where his motto was "We've got everything you need . . . and don't need."

When not keeping The Would Eye open 365 days a year, he could be found at his home away from home overlooking the Missouri River at Lewis and Clark Estates.

He was a member of the Rulo Boat Club, Falls City Elks Club and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

He is welcomed into heaven by his dad, Diesel, his maternal and paternal grandparents, dear family friends Marsha and Dick Brennan, and his childhood friends Jeff McNeely, Nick Nolte, and Aaron O'Grady.

A private family rosary will be held. Family and friends are invited to join in his Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 22, 2025, beginning with his funeral at 3:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City, Nebraska. All are invited to continue to The Would Eye following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Eric wished for memorials towards the establishment of scholarships for local students entering the construction field and those enlisting in the military. "Family Choice" memorials will be donated to specific local organizations and projects selected by Elle, James, and Kole to carry on Eric's legacy of generosity.
