Timothy L. Wassenberg, 68, of Baileyville, died on Monday 10/21/24

He was born July 14,1956, to Wilbert A. “Bill” and Antonia Sudbeck Wassenberg. He grew up in Baileyville, Kansas, where he farmed and ranched with his brother Daniel(deceased) in Partnership.

Tim was the stalwart of the family farm. He is irreplaceable. He was an intelligent quiet man. He committed most things to memory. He loved to hunt and was a great marksman and fisherman. He came to love all animals but let the hunting to others. He was an extremely hard-working farmer and improved the land rather than just taking from it.

He loved to travel when he was able, going to most Northern destinations to sight see and investigate crops and growing methods in other areas of the country with his brother Daniel.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Timothy will be remembered by his family as “the” person to go to for advice and knew a million ways to fix things that were broken A honest most upstanding friend and brother (beyond what anyone could ask for), and he will be missed.

Tim overcame many medical issues that most people would be knocked to the ground by. The day before he left this world Tim got on his favorite tractor to work the ground after harvest! Tim was strong willed.

Tim had great stamina and a will to do what was right and honest in all of his business dealings.

Generous and caring with a Heart of Gold!

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, Daniel Wassenberg and a sister, Gloria Wassenberg.

Survivors are his sisters, Elaine Manahan of Seneca and Renee Wassenberg of Seneca.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday 10/24/24 at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. The burial will be in the church cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed at 2 PM October 23th 2024 at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials can be made in Tim’s memory to the Baileyville Parish Hall Project, sent in care of the family.
