It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that John Michael Speckhals, 64, unexpectedly passed away October 16th 2024. He was born November 23rd 1959 in Kansas City MO. John is survived by his loving wife Gina Speckhals, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years of marriage having been high school sweethearts. John was a devoted family man and proud father to his daughter, Melissa Speckhals, and son Chris Speckhals. He was also a cherished grandfather to his four grandsons; Andrew Mackey, Derek Mackey, Jay Vincent and Blaise Speckhals, as well as his granddaughter, Tara Carson.
A man of many talents, John was a very well known and respected proud owner of his home remodeling business in Hiawatha, KS for many years. He dedicated his life to improving the lives of others. John volunteered his services to families and individuals in need when able, showcasing his generous spirit. He also had a bachelores degree in substance abuse, always trying to better people’s lives. He was well known for his sense of humor. John brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege to know him
John had a true love and passion for home remodeling. He loved to paint, especially abstract art, as well as being an amazing photographer, who also developed his own pictures.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations with funeral costs. Donations can be made to Chapel oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha KS. John will be deeply missed but his legacy of love, kindness, creativity, and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Services will be held at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha KS Wednesday October 23rd 2024 viewing time begins at 5:30, followed by services at 6:30. Rev. Rick Forthman will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
