Charles Edward Broyles, 62, of Horton, Kansas passed away at the KU Medical in Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 13th, 2024.
Ed was born on November 3rd, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky to John and Armanda (Throop) Broyles. He graduated from Salem High School in Salem, Arkansas in the class of 1979. Following graduation Ed joined the Army serving from 1980 to 1986, being stationed in Germany. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1986, he then later continued his work with the military working as a private contractor building generators overseas during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom for the Air Force bases and various branches of the military. Ed was currently employed by Hiawatha Tire & Lube in Hiawatha, Kansas for the past 8 years working as a tire technician, and operated the onsite service truck.
Ed and wife Karen, were joined in marriage on March 15th, 1997 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Prior to moving to Horton, Kansas; Ed and Karen had lived in Mountain Home for many years, raising their family.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lee Broyles. Survivors include: wife, Karen of the home, Brother, Jim (Doni) Broyles of Salem, AR., children: Charlie (Candice) Broyles of Virginia, Raechel Juber of Horton, KS., Shari (Ryan) Wayland of Mountain Home, AR,. Ian (Jordan) Calloway of Holman, WI., Cameron Broyles of Hiawatha, KS., and Chris (Mikayla) Broyles of Mountain Home, AR. Ed was also blessed with the following 16 grandchildren: Mitchell, Paige, Sadie, James, Mya, Seth, Emma, Trent, Gavin, Lucille, LaNora, Rorie, Silas, Keegan, Abel, Willow, and another grandchild on the way.
After a long day of hard work, Ed enjoyed nothing more than coming home to spend time with his growing family and dear friends.
Ed has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, MO. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at Lentz Express Catering located at 116A West 8th Street in downtown Horton, Kansas starting at 2:00PM on.
