Grace Regina Dienstbier, 100, loving mother and grandmother, formerly Topeka, Sabetha and Bern, KS, entered into Heaven on September 8, 2024 at Rest Well Home Plus in Oskaloosa.
She was born January 29, 1924 in the community of Bern in Nemaha County, KS, the daughter of Floyd Russell and Myrtle Anna Haxton. She was a 1942 graduate of Bern High School. A homemaker, mother and military wife, she also had formerly worked as a waitress at Maynard- Restaurant in Topeka. She was a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Topeka.
Grace married Otto Emiel Dienstbier on August 18, 1942 and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Paul (Melissa) Dienstbier, Andover, KS, three daughters, Ruth Ann Beach, Spokane Valley, WA, Jane Marie (David) Stout, Fountain Inn , S.C., Carolyn Sue (Kevin) Shankland, Valley Falls, KS, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Angela Sue Fairchild, a step-granddaughter, Rachel Carpenter, one brother, Dean Haxton, and one sister, Viola Marteney.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, September 13, 2024 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Topeka. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. before service at the Church. Grave Side Interment will be 1:30 PM, Friday afternoon at Sabetha City Cemetery, Sabetha, KS.
