Betty Lou Myers, 92, of Havensville, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Oakley Place of Rossville. She was born July 16, 1932 at home, south of Mt. Olive, KS, the daughter of Carl Charles and Nellie Mae Sauvage.

Betty graduated from Havensville High School in 1950. She took pride in being a homemaker and helping her husband, Dean, with the family construction business, Myers Construction.

She was a member of Havensville Christian Church, Charter Member of Onaga Hospital Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and 60-year member of American Legion Auxiliary.

She loved her family get togethers, either at their pond in Havensville or Banner Creek Lake. Most recently, celebrating her 92nd Birthday with her family. She would say with a smile “Look what Dean and I started” referring to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty married Dean Frederick Myers on December 16, 1950 in Topeka, KS. They celebrated over 61 years of marriage before his passing on October 8, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mae Sauvage and 3 brothers, Harvey P., Bill and Carl E. “Gene” Sauvage.

Survivors include her 5 children, Cindy Shaw (Steve) of Silver Lake, KS, Trudy Francis (Terry) of Topeka, KS, Mindy Sieve (Tim) of Topeka, KS, Jody Myers of Edgerton, KS and Randy “Buck” Myers of Havensville, KS; 14 grandchildren, Tracy Mercer (Chris), Scott Sloop (Rosie), Justin Shaw (Debbie), Cory Francis (Jessica), Jamie Francis (Billy Emerson), Amanda Farmer (Travis), Matt Hamilton (Tracy), Tabetha Davis (Josh), Tyler Correll, Cory Myers, Matt Myers (Chloe), Ashley Bean (Dale), Casey Myers and Colby Myers; 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Havensville Cemetery.
