Lawrence Bo Kirkendall, 80 of Falls City, NE, passed away August 30, 2024 at Falls City. He was born August 15, 1944 at Falls City to Dale and Loretta Kirkendall.
He married Janice Prior on September 6, 1964 at Falls City. She passed away April 24, 2018.
Bo was raised at Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1964. Following graduation, he started farming with his father. He was a life-long farmer. He passed his love of farming and horses onto his son, grandson and granddaughter. In later years he worked at Airlanco retiring from there in August of 2009. His greatest joy though was spreading Christmas cheer and bringing Santa Clause to all the local Falls City and Richardson County children. His Santa Claus schedule was filled from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve and New Years and sometimes in the summer months. He was uptown in the Little Red Santa house for many a night making sure to get all the Christmas requests from the kids and checking to see if they were naughty or nice. He spread the Christmas spirit for 45 years. He was a member of First Christian Church and was a deacon, elder and board member. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, Saddle Club and Quarter Horse Association.
Bo is survived by his sons, Scott and his wife Karen of Urbandale, IA, Brian and his wife Roberta of Falls City, brother, Norman and his wife Theresa of Wichita, KS, sisters, Roxane Darveaux of Valley Falls, KS, Donna Stumbo of Falls City, NE, grandchildren, Lucas Kirkendall and his fiancé, Savannah Grant and Hannah Kirkendall both of Falls City and a great-grandson, Holden James Kirkendall of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a grandson, Jacob Wayne Kirkendall and a sister, Sondra Bryan.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Grant Speece officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
Viewing will begin on Thursday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to family choice for later designation.
