Mark Richard Woolard, 58, of Table Rock, Nebraska was born on May 9, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska and was adopted by his parents Richard and Margot (Greenlimb) Woolard. He was raised with his family in Ceresco, Nebraska and attended Raymond Central High School where he was a standout football player, wrestled, and competed in track and field. Mark graduated from Raymond Central High School with the class of 1984 then continued his education and football career by attending Doane College in Crete. While playing football for Doane, Mark was also a member of the Doane Powerlifting team and set several weight lifting records. He received his Bachelor- Degree in Education in 1988 and began his teaching and coaching career at Table Rock-Steinauer Public Schools. While at Table Rock-Steinauer, Mark was the head football coach, assistant boys’ basketball coach, and head boys track coach. When the school later consolidated in 2001 to become HTRS, he continued coaching high school football and later junior high football.

On September 19, 2009, Mark was united in marriage to Peggy Castleman in Elk Creek, Nebraska. The couple made their home outside of Table Rock and raised their family. Mark was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt deer, waterfowl, turkey, and fish. During his teaching career, Mark taught Industrial Arts, Social Studies, and was an Online Learning Proctor. He was well-liked by his many students, fellow teachers, and administrators over his teaching career and will be deeply missed in the halls and classrooms at HTRS.

Mark passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of fifty-eight years, seven months, and fourteen days. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Woolard.

Mark is survived by his wife Peggy Woolard of rural Table Rock, NE; children: Monty Mace of Blue Springs, MO; Danny DeMars Jr. of Blue Springs, MO; Dylan Woolard of Bloomfield, NM; Jeremiahe Woolard of rural Table Rock, NE; numerous grandchildren, mother Margot Woolard of York, NE; sister Amy Felkner and her husband Russ of Beatrice, NE; brother Tim Woolard and fiancé Darcy Hynek of Fairbury, NE; and many other relatives and numerous friends.

Visitation for Mark will be held from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.
