Laura “Jean” Zacharias, 75, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023 at her home in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Jean was born on September 14, 1948 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Harold William and Betty June (Monks) Zacharias. Jean grew up on a farm near Horton, Kansas with her siblings and many pets. She was introduced to her BCDS family in the 70- and moved to Hiawatha in 1990.

Jeannie never met a stranger and she loved Elvis and babies. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bryant William (Bill) Zacharias and Roy Zacharias. She is survived by her sisters, Linda Stuard of Blue Eye, MO and Debra Zacharias and Doug Hill of Oklahoma City, OK. Many nieces and nephews, Scott and Karen Kremeier of Chicago, Lance Kremeier of Ames, NE, Nicole and Tim Moss of Vicki, OK, Jennifer Zacharias of Tulsa, OK, Tammy and Chris George of Van Alstyne, Texas, and Will and Carolyn Zacharias of Van Alstyne, Texas.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday morning December 22, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at Dishon Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas with burial to follow at the Horton City Cemetery.
