Sallyann Goldie Strawn, 89, of Denison, KS, passed away Sunday November 12, 2023 at her home in Denison, KS. She was born July 4, 1934 in Netawaka, KS the daughter of George P. and Lola M. (Streeter) Cashman.

Sallyann graduated from Wetmore High School in 1952. After high school, she worked as a seamstress for Slimaker Dress Factory. Sallyann also worked for Knouse & Sons Accounting Firm in Horton, KS and for Fernkopf Meat Processing Plant in Holton.

Sallyann was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

On October 16, 1955, Sallyann married Robert “Bob” W. Strawn in Denison, KS. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before Bob passed away April on April 15, 2018.

Survivors include 3 sons, Daniel A. Strawn of Ava, MO, Noel W. Strawn (Maria) of Jacksonville, NC and John E. Strawn (Cindy) of Holton, KS; a daughter, Janet F. Billquist of Holton, KS; sister, Shirley Martin of KCMO; sister-in-law, Sarah DeVader of Holton, KS; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; son, James Strawn; 7 siblings, Georgia McAfee, Marjorie Jane Voelker, Beatrice F. Couch, Mary Cashman, Duane Cashman, Dennis Cashman and John Cashman; brothers-in-law, Roger DeVader and Curt Strawn.

A memorial graveside service at the Denison Cemetery will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Memorials may be given to the Heart of Jackson Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
