David Hatch

David Allen Hatch, 67, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

David was born on July 31, 1955, to Delbert and Marilyn (Lair) Hatch in Pawnee City, Nebraska, and grew up in Falls City, Nebraska. David married Cindy (Burns) Hatch on May 18, 1975. They were blessed with a daughter, Mindy, on August 3, 1976.

David was employed at Stalder Cattle Co. near Salem, Nebraska. Then, he started driving a semi-truck for various trucking companies including Koch Trucking, Keim Transportation, and Smart Trucking. He drove for Fairview Express until his health declined, and he was unable to continue driving a semi-truck.

David was very proud of his daughter and grandchildren, and he loved every moment that he spent with them. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren- sporting events. Other favorite past times included riding around seeing what neighbors and friends were doing, playing cards, and he always enjoyed telling jokes.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Grier.

David is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Sabetha, Kansas; his daughter, Mindy Geist of Sabetha; his grandchildren, Dylan, Cory, Jordie, and Karley; his nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha, Kansas. Family request casual attire for the funeral service. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Maple Cemetery in Salem, Nebraska.
