Darliss Jeanene "Wahsahque" Whitebird, 34, of the Kickapoo Reservation, passed away on April 5, 2022 in an automobile accident near Powhattan, Kansas.

Dar was born in Topeka, KS to Arlan Whitebird and the late- Angie Ramirez on January 28, 1988. In the Summer of 2018 she married her best friend Jeremy Simon.

She had 6 children; Marcella Potts, Timothy Potts, the late-Herbert Whitebird, Gracie Whitebird, Ralph Simon, Angelina Simon. She has 11 sisters; Justina Brockman, Joanna Hyde, the late-Yvonne McCartney, Arlissa Whitebird, Jessi Whitebird, Alissen Whitebird, Riss Whitebird, Marissa Whitebird, Iriss Whitebird, Clarissa Whitebird and Vanessa Gonzalez. 3 brothers; Austin Whitebird, Alvin Whitebird and Devin Whitebird. And 32 nieces and nephews.

Darliss attended Horton High School and is a member of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas. She worked for multiple agencies in the health care field. She loved each of her six children and family dearly and went above and beyond for them. Dar was also an active member in the community and within her religion. She loved cooking, working, sewing and being there for her siblings. She is a mother, sister, daughter and auntie who will be missed and loved with her funny, nice personality.

A viewing open to the public will be held at Dishon Maple Chaney Mortuary in Horton, KS on Friday April 8, 2022. The viewing where friends and family can meet will be held from 10am to 12:00.

A private family service will be held at sundown at Harvey Ross Sr residence, on the Kickapoo Reservation followed by a wake. Burial will be Saturday morning 8am at the Kennekuk Cemetery.
