Dorothy Louise (Bishop) Cline, 90, formerly of Havensville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Community Hospital in Onaga, surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born December 16, 1931 on the family farm northwest of Delia, the daughter of Cleon and Leatha (Brees) Bishop.  She attended Little Cross Creek Grade School for eight years.  She attended one year of high school in Emmett before the family moved to a farm northwest of Havensville, where she attended two more years of high school.  The next year Dorothy married John Albert Cline on October 19, 1948 at Coal Creek. They lived on the family farm northwest of Havensville for sixty-two years before John’s passing on January 24, 2011.  Shortly after that she left the farm to make her home at Redbud Assisted Living in Onaga.  Dorothy suffered a stroke on December 19, 2021, after which she made her home at the Onaga Health and Rehab.

Dorothy raised big gardens and canned the produce.  She also raised chickens, for eggs and to eat.  She was a great baker and made angel food cakes from scratch.  She was proud of the blue ribbon one of her cakes won at the County Fair.  Dorothy made delicious gooseberry jelly.  She kept a neat, clean home and raised seven children without the conveniences of running water or a telephone until 1979.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John, her youngest child, Leon, who died in 2016, her brother, Carl Bishop, who died in 2021, and her son-in-law, Jack Campbell.

Survivors include her five daughters, Mary Teresa Harris (Bob), Centralia, Donna Bryan (Ed), Patty Campbell and Nancy Holloway (Leon), all of Onaga, and Jo Harris (Lester), Havensville; her son, John Cline (Annette), Onaga; two sisters, Mary McDougal (Gerald), Havensville and Helen Rose, Onaga; a brother, Glen Bishop (Sharon), Rossville, a sister-in-law, Barbara Bishop, Onaga; six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Onaga.  Burial will follow in the Havensville Cemetery.  Dorothy will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.  She will lie in state after 5:00 p.m. at the church where visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00.  Memorials are suggested to Hope Lodge, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
