Karen Sue Payne, 77, of Hoyt, died Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Onaga Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 27, 1943 at Wamego, the daughter of Willard F. “Bud” and Edna Cox Noland.

Karen was a member of the First Baptist Church at Hoyt and later the First Baptist Church at Holton.

She married Kenneth M. Bryan. They were divorced and he preceded her in death. She married Tom J. Payne on October 11, 1974 at Hoyt. He died February 21, 2007.

Karen had worked at several restaurants and later did house painting with her husband Tom.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Bobby Muller, and a brother-in-law, Fritz Dillner.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Bryan (Kellie), Hoyt and Kevin Bryan, in Washington State; two daughters, Kimberly Muller, Mayetta and Shay West (Eric), Burlingame; one brother, Willard F. Noland, Jr. (Hedy), Holton; one sister, Barbara Dillner, Hoyt; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial will follow in the Hoyt Cemetery. Please wear a mask at the service. There will be no other calling hours for Karen. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Disease Association, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, 66440.
