Ruby May Grimm

Ruby May Grimm, 66, of Sabetha, formerly of Morrill, passed from this life Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, from complications following a heart attack. She was born April 18, 1949, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Kraft) Sinn in Fort Scott, Kansas.

She attended a one room country schoolhouse for 8 years and then graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1967. She graduated from Kansas State University with an elementary education degree in 1971. When she was 17, she was diagnosed with diabetes. In March of 1970, Ruby was baptized and became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She married Gerald Grimm of Morrill, Kansas on May 30, 1971. Following their marriage, Ruby taught for 2 ½ years at Sabetha Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald of the home, two children; Darin and his wife, Marci (Edelman), and Brenda Nenadov and her husband, Mark; five grandchildren, Ashley, Brianna, Megan, and Weston Grimm, and Laura Nenadov, all of Morrill. Also surviving are two sisters; Waneta Plattner of Sabetha and Elizabeth Sinn of Overland Park, Kansas; two brothers, Charles Sinn of Eureka, Illinois and John Sinn of Fort Scott, Kansas. Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother-in-law, Eldon Plattner of Sabetha.

Ruby was active in church, the community and 4-H activities. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, helping others and spending time with her five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be made in the Sabetha Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Sabetha Apostolic Christian Church sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
