Carol A. Johnson

Carol A. Johnson (Zink) (Mingo) a life time resident of the Leavenworth and Easton, KS area, died Sunday the 19th of July at her home.  She had been living life to the fullest even after being diagnosed with a degenerative brain disease which sadly took her life.

Born January 3, 1954 in Leavenworth, KS, Carol had an amazing life with many adventures. She had earned her Certified Medication Aide Certification, owned a bar, ran a truck driving company and raised her amazing children as well as helping to care for many others that needed her along the way.

Carol loved Mustangs, Harley Davidsons, and making beautiful quilts and was so happy to be living with her son, Brian at the “farm house” in the country.  Carol had a huge heart and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her son, Brian Hughes (Kim), her daughter, Mandy Hughes Nalker (Ethan), her grandchildren, Alex (Leila) Hughes, Dale Hughes, Ashley Lauren Hughes, Maddisen Taylor, Austin Hughes, Kalynn Nalker, Mika Nalker, and Jacoby Hughes. Great Granddaughter Madilane Kay Hughes, and her brothers and sisters, Virginia Stark, Linda Gerdes, Eddie Zink, Gerry Zink, and
Sonny Zink as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A BBQ Potluck Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday July 25th at 25235 Seven Sisters Road in Easton, KS
