Ronald Wayne Huss, 71, of Highland, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, July 19, 2015, shortly after arrival at Mosiac Life Center in St. Joseph, MO.
Ron was born October 8, 1943, at Highland, one of two children born to Harold Kenneth and Mary Loretta Bacon Huss.  Ron lived most of his life near Fanning where he started doing farm chores and helping his Dad milk cows at the age of 10.  He attended country schools at Moray and Fanning prior to graduating with the class at Highland High School in 1961. Ron, with his parents, operated the Huss & Webb Dairy until 1977 when his parents retired.  Ron continued to farm and raise livestock near Fanning, semi retiring in 2013 when they moved to town.  Ron’s hobby was work, enjoyed his family and caring for them.
He was a member of the Highland United Methodist-Presbyterian Church; BPOE #1741 Hiawatha Elks Lodge, prior to transferring to the Atchison Lodge.
Ron met and a short time later married Charlene Wildberger, August 7, 1964, at the Fanning Church.  She survives.
Also surviving are their children:  Pam (Eric) Wiedner of Highland, Scott Huss of Highland, Kenny (Jeni) Huss of Troy; a sister Jackie (Curt) Sisk, also of Highland; eight grandchildren:  Lyndsey (Kyle) Koehler, Whitney (Jerod) Edie, Jacob Wiedner, Kolton & Kirsten Huss, Jessica & Madyson Guffy, John Huss; and six great-  grandchildren.  Ron was very close to Charlene’s brothers and sister:  Charles & Linda Wildberger of N Kansas City, MO, Ed & Connie Wildberger of St. Joseph, MO, Donna & Henry Assel of Smithville, MO, and Roger & Denise Wildberger of Gower, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Ron’s life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the Highland United Methodist-Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Jerry Petering officiating.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland after 10 a.m. Tuesday where the family will meet with friends from 6 until 8 that evening.
