Dennis Rowell, 65, of Kansas City, MO, passed away July 14, 2015. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Rulo Cemetery, Rulo, NE. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time at Rulo Cemetery.

DATE & PLACE OF DEATH:  July 14, 2015 at Kansas City

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: April 16, 1950 at Falls City, NE

PARENTS:  the late LaVern and Catherine (Liberty) Rowell

MILITARY  :  He was drafted into the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged after 5 years.

LIFE HISTORY:

Dennis was raised in Kansas City and graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1968. Following graduation he was drafted into the U. S. Army and served five years until being honorably discharged at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Hollowing his service he worked as an over the road truck driver. He then became employed at Firestone Tire Plant in Elizabeth Town, KY where he lived for ten years before moving back to Kansas City and going back to truck driving. He retired from truck driving in 2007 due to his health. He and Camelia enjoyed riding his Harley and he collected eagles and knives.

ORGANIZATIONS:  He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ at Kansas City

Fiancé: Camelia Cabanas of Kansas City, MO

Children: Shohn Rowell of Rolla, MO

                    Justin Rowell and Katrina Rowell both of Henderson, KY

Step-daughter: Yaisi Newton of Kansas City

Brothers: Kerry Rowell of Kansas City

                    Michael (Mindy) Rowell of Robinson, KS

5 step-grandchildren

1 great-grandchild.

FUNERAL SERVICES:

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Rulo Cemetery, Rulo, NE with Butch Liberty officiating. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS: on Monday 1 hour prior to service time at Rulo Cemetery.
