Grace Louise (Davis) Harris, 90 of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Pawnee Manor, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  She was born on July 9, 1924 to Melvin and Ollie ( Miner) Davis in Pawnee City, Nebraska.

Grace lived in Pawnee City her entire life.  She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1942.  After graduation she worked in laundry at the hospital for a short time, then took a job in the draft board office as a clerk assistant, for two years.  Grace worked at the farm office, the dime store (S&G Store) and then a cashier at Warnke’s grocery store,  In 1984 Grace and John operated the Pawnee Inn until 1988.

Grace was a member of the V.F.W.  Auxilliary in Pawnee City for over 55 years.

Grace married John Harris on April 13, 1947, to this union four children were born, Daniel D., Dennis D., Diane D., and Debra D.

Due to health they moved from their home of over 55 years to a apartment in November of 2005.  Grace enjoyed cooking and having family  over for dinners.  Grace enjoyed making many quilts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin & Ollie Davis, husband John, daughter Debra Darlene Harris, brothers, Clarence Davis, Dean Davis, Wayne Davis, sister Berniece Hartman.

She is survived by her children, Daniel D. (Kim) Harris of Pawnee City, NE, Dennis D. (Debra) Harris of Woodbine, IA, daughter, DIane D. Henry of Pawnee City, NE, grandchildren, Danielle (Trevor) Eisenbarth of Topeka, KS, their children; Corbin, Ashtynn and RyAnn, Melissa (Brandon) Frazier of Woodbine, IA, Garrett (Dina) Harris of Pawnee City, NE, their children, Taylor and Cutter, Matthew (Tiffany) Harris of Cibolo, TX their son, Brayden, Jessica Henry and fiance Jason of Milford, NE, Rachelle Henry of Lexington, North Carolina, Amanda (Clyde) Loveless of Sabetha, KS, their son Wayne, Emily Henry of Pawnee City, NE, brothers, Elton (Anna Mae) Davis of Pawnee City, NE, Marvin Davis of Madrid, IA, Keith Davis of Woodbine, IA, Willis Davis of Woodbine, IA, Larry Davis of Woodbine, IA, sisters, Lola Hatfield of Pawnee City, NE, Betty Veeder of Pawnee City, NE, Alice Davis of Woodbine, IA, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Officiating Reverend Sherry Sklenar.  Visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 9:00 a.m.-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Memorials to Pawnee City V.F.W. Auxilliary.
