Agnes A. Jimeson, 81, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away June 22, 2015. Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, June 27, at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS. Visitation will be at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS on Friday, June 26 from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha, KS at 5:00 PM.
Agnes was born in Kansas City, KS on November 4, 1933 to Ralph and Rosalie Wyatt. She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1951 and from Kansas State University in 1955 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She earned her MA in Guidance Counseling from Kansas University in 1960. She was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a Shepard Deacon. She was active in the Kansas City Tri-Delta Alumnae Chapter and served as President. She was a member of the American WWII Orphans Network, American Association of University Women and was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.
Agnes married her high school sweetheart Gerald (Jerry) Jimeson on December 27, 1954. They shared 60 years together and cherished raising their daughters.
In 1957, Agnes started out as a home-economics teacher in Robinson, KS and went on to high school counseling in the Kansas City, MO School District and retired in 1997. She also worked at Cy Rudnick’s Fabrics in Crown Center for 11 years combining her love of fabrics, fashion and people.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ralph.
Agnes leaves her husband, daughters Sarah (Craig) Norton of Minnetonka, MN and Martha (Jeff) Veldhuizen of Webster Groves, MO; and grandchildren Andrew and Alex Norton and Clara and Sarah Veldhuizen.
Memorial donations may be made to Village Church or Kansas State University Alumni Association.
