Betty Jane Brown, 82 of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Home in Auburn, Nebraska.  She was born on June 30, 1932 to August and Bertha “Alice” (Burgett) Babcock, rural Dawson, Nebraska.  Betty was one of nine children.

Betty attended school at District 16 near Dawson and later graduated from Pawnee City High School.

Betty met Donald Brown of Table Rock and were married on June 15, 1949. They made their home in Pawnee City, Nebraska. To this union they had four children.

Betty was active in church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Bible School.  She loved music and played the piano and violin.  Betty also enjoyed flowers, vegetables and gardening.  Betty was also active in the Ladies V.F.W. Auxillary unit in Pawnee City.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, son, Terry, brothers, Glen, Raymond, Lawrence, sisters, Zelma Amsberry, Lorraine Schramn and Thelma Nicholas.

She is survived by her children; Janice (Dennis) Ehmke of Auburn, NE, Alan Brown of Pawnee City, NE, Ryan (Heather) Brown of Ashland, NE, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren,  sisters, Margery Clifton, Velma Rowland both of Pawnee City, NE, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Memorial  service 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Table Rock Cemetery, Table Rock, Nebraska.  Officiating Reverend Duane Westing.  Visitation on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Inurnment at the Table Rock Cemetery.  Memorials to the Presbyterian/Christian Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
