Shirley Ann "Kip" Shopteese, 56, of Tecumseh, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born on December 14, 1958 in Holton, Kansas the daughter of Lorenzo and Nellie Green Shopteese Sr. Kip was homemaker, member of the Kickapoo Tribe and Kennekuk Indian Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and attending FMR (Racing) with her companion Frank. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her animals.

Survivors include her companion, Frank Merando of the home, Tecumseh, Kansas; three daughters, Violet Melchior and Nicki Merando both of Topeka, Kansas and Virginia Melchior of Horton, Kansas; son, Jonathan Melchior of Mayetta, Kansas; two sisters, Christine Shopteese of Horton, Kansas and Michelle Matchie of Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, Michael Shopteese of Horton, Kansas and John Shopteese of Norman, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lorenzo Jr. and Roland Shopteese, two sisters, Crystal Shopteese and Joan Shopteese and nephew, Jeremy Simon.
