Lester W. Duerfeldt, 91, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 10, 2015 at Falls City. He was born April 3, 1924 at Falls City to the late Clifford and Edna (Ruegge) Duerfeldt.

On June 24, 1945 he married Anna E. Noyes at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She passed away June 30, 2010.

Lester was raised northeast of Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1941. Following graduation he farmed with his father and brother. He farmed his entire life and also raised livestock. He retired at the age of 80. He was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, northeast of Falls City, and had served on the church council and was Sunday School Superintendent. He served on the District 23 School Board, Community Hospital Board, the ASCS County Committee and was a 4-H leader for over 50 years and a founding member of the Williamsville Happy Go Lucky 4-H Club.

Lester is survived by his daughter, Beverly Hankins and her husband William of St. Charles, MO, sons, Jerry and his wife Linda and Stanley and his wife Stacey both of Falls City, brother, Marvin and his wife Norma Lee of Falls City, sister, Bernice Matthes of Falls City, granddaughters, Tracy Dlouhy and her husband Marty, Shelley Hankins, Jennifer Uher and her husband Matt, Christi Wegener and her husband Cory, Becky Gossman and her husband David, Shelby and Lindsey Duerfeldt, Kelly Sparrow and her husband Brent, Carol McMillen and her husband Kevin, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his, parents and wife.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Andrew Chavanak officiating. Interment will be in Williamsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
