Jean Marie Haag, 93, of Hays, formerly of Holton passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Hays Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1922 in Larkinburg, KS the daughter of Homer M. and Nora A. (Shaffer) Humphrey.

Jean graduated from Holton High School in 1940 and had attended Woods Women’s College in Fulton, MO and Washburn University. Jean and Lloyd lived in Garden City from 1949 – 1982, after Lloyd’s retirement they moved back to family farm in Larkinburg. Upon the death of Lloyd, Jean moved to Topeka for 10 years then moved to Hays in 2010 and lived at Cedar View Assisted Living and Via Christi Nursing Home for the past 5 years.

Jean did office work and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church, Chapter D.A.R. and Chapter P.E.O all in Holton.

She married Lloyd H. Haag on June 24, 1943 in Holton. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2004. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Wendell, H. Dean and Richard Humphrey.

Survivors include a son, Dale Haag (Katie) of Hays, KS; 2 daughters, Lloydeen Wolfe (Rodney) of Garden City, KS and Jeannine Haag of Ft. Collins, CO; 3 grandchildren, Jonathon Haag (Peggy), Jason Haag (Jennifer) and James Haag and 5 great-grandchildren, Emma, Kayley and Bentley Haag and Avery and Britton Whitmire.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery.
