Sheila I. Gibson 71, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Horton Community Hospital.

She was born on October 9, 1943 in Waterville, Kansas the daughter of Harold and Mildred (Jewell) Bolejack. Sheila operated a loan company in Marysville, Kansas after high school, then went to work as bank teller in Summerfield, Kansas. After moving to Horton she was a secretary for Meyer Lumber in Horton and director at Arbor Knoll Homes. Sheila then worked for the City of Horton as the City Clerk and Administrator. She then went to work in the human resources department for the Sac-N-Fox Casino before becoming the billing clerk at the Horton Hospital. Over the years she also worked in her spare time as tax preparer. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she played the organ for over thirty five years. She was also very active in the Horton Hospital Auxiliary, HIDC, Pride, Chamber of Commerce and helped establish the Horton Luminaries. She married Lyle Gibson in Marysville, Kansas. They were later divorced. But after several years were reunited.

Survivors include her ex-husband, Lyle Gibson of the home, Horton, Kansas; daughter, Lori (Jay) Kinnear of Horton, Kansas; son, Jason (Venessa) Gibson of Horton, Kansas; brother, Bobby Bolejack of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Marvin Feldhausen of Beatrice, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Ariel Kinnear of Horton, Austin Gibson of Horton, Casey Tulk of Twenty-nine Palms, California and Daniel Gibson of Kansas City, Kansas; two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers and a sister, Verla Feldhausen.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
