Dorothy Fassnacht
Dishon- Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

Dorothy Alice Fassnacht of Muscotah, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas.

She was born on May 8, 1919 south of Everest, Kansas, the daughter of Martin and Ellen (Eyer) Monson. Dorothy graduated from Muscotah High School. After graduating she went to work as a bookkeeper for the Sunflower Creamery in Everest and Valley Falls, Kansas for years. Dorothy then went to work as the postal clerk at the Muscotah Post Office before retiring. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Muscotah United Methodist Church. On May 18, 1946 she married Harold J. Fassnacht in Atchison, Kansas. He passed away on May 9, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Thomas (Anita) Fassnacht of Muscotah, Kansas; two grandchildren, Patrick (Amy) Fassnacht of Whiting, Kansas and John (Sara) Fassnacht of Muscotah, Kansas and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Monson and sister, Gladys Helmstetter.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 12:30 until service time. Burial will be at the Muscotah Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Dorothy Fassnacht memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
