CPO Billy E. Dykes Ret. U. S. Navy, 86, of Falls City, NE passed away December 31, 2014 at Falls City. He was born August 7, 1928 at Falls City to the late Clyde and Opal (Mullins) Dykes.

Billy enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1948 and was honorably discharged and retired after 22 years as a gunners mate on October 1, 1971 at Salt Lake City, UT.

On March 3, 1956 he married Delpha Davidson at Long Beach, CA. She passed away October 16, 2004.

Billy was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and while serving he married Delpha. They made their home in several places due to his service. When he retired they returned to Falls City where he worked various jobs including Falls City Country Club and Clark Funeral Home.

Billy is survived by his step-children, Donald Childers of Topeka, Donna Childers of Nevada, MO, brother, Bobby Joe Dykes of St. Charles, MO, sister, Mary Lou Stallings and her husband Larry of Canton, CA, nephew, Robert Lock and his wife Shari of Unadilla, NE and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Betty Lock.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Parrish officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
