Beverly Sutter, 92, of Effingham, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Atchison Senior Village, where she had resided since March 2012.  

Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Becker Chapel, 403 George St., Effingham, KS with Rev. Jeff Cochran, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham.  Family will receive friends on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the chapel.   Memorial contributions in honor of Beverly are suggested to Atchison Senior Village.  Words of comfort and remembrance may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Beverly Blanchard was born on October 15, 1922 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Miles and Angie (Gould) Blanchard.  Beverly graduated from Atchison High School.  Beverly was married to Walter Sutter on November 26, 1942 at the First Christian Church in Atchison.  Together, they lived on a farm west of Effingham where they raised their three children, Wayne, Elaine, and Steve.  In 1967, they built their home on the north end of Effingham and lived there until Beverly moved to assisted living in July 2011.

Beverly’s husband, Walter, passed away on February 13, 2000.  

Beverly had worked for JC Penneys in Atchison, Buddenbohm’s Grocery Store in Effingham and was also a committee woman for Benton Township.  Beverly and her husband, Walter, shared a loving interest in antiques; at one time operating an antique store in Effingham.  After closing the store, they continued to sell antiques from their home.  

Beverly is survived by her children, Wayne Sutter, Stillwell, KS; Elaine Montgomery, Effingham, KS; Steve Sutter, Williston, ND; sister, Ruth Ann Sinclair, Atchison; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
