Marilyn A. Shields, 74, of Falls City, NE, passed away November 4, 2014 at Falls City. She was born August 31, 1939 at Severance, KS to the late Alva and Lela (Denton) Lewis.

On June 19, 1960 she married Robert “Bob” Shields at Hiawatha, KS. He passed away January 27, 2009.

Marilyn was raised in the Highland, KS area and graduated from the Highland High School in 1957, and attended the St. Luke’s nursing school in Kansas City, graduating in 1959. The couple established their home in Falls City when married and lived in Fremont then O’Neill, moving back to Falls City in 1969 where she was a Registered Nurse at the Falls City Hospital, Midland Villa Nursing Home & also worked doing in-home health care. She retired in 2003. She volunteered at Sacred Heart High School in the reading program. She was a member of member of the First Christian Church of Falls City and the Rachel Group of her Church.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Robbie of Falls City, David and his wife Jamie of Osawatomie, KS, daughter, Michelle Ramer and her husband Rick of Stella, NE, brothers, Vernon Lewis and his wife Bonnie of Scottsdale, AZ, Bob Lewis and his wife Pat of Manhattan, KS, sisters, Shirley Attebury and her husband Ron of Fresno, CA, Luella Scott and her husband Don of Kansas City, Mo, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Angela Shields.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the church.
