Richardson County residents Terry Lotter and Fred Brewer have requested that recall petitions be issued for the recall of Richardson County Assessor Regina Cummings.
The affidavits were filed Monday, February 6th by Lotter who lives in Falls City and Brewer who live near Falls City. The two jointly made the request that the recall petitions be issued. In an interview Wednesday morning Lotter explained his reasons for the action. ( play audio :17 seconds )
Lotter said some area residents had raised concerns about the Assessor to the County Commissioners. ( play audio :19 seconds )

Fred Brewer said they hope to have the recall be a part of the May primary election if their recall effort is successful. ( play audio :09 seconds )
Brewer said they feel the voters of Richardson County will need to make the decision on this issue since Commissioners have no control over the duties performed by an elected county official. ( play audio :23 seconds )
Regina Cummings was not at work when attempts were made to contact her Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning for comments on the recall effort.
Cummings has served as Richardson County Assessor since January of 1995 and has worked in the office since 1982.
