(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Education has approved a plan to get a line of credit for up to $25,000 at the Carson National Bank for the movie theater the district owns in downtown Auburn.
Superintendent Kevin Reiman explained the south side of the building that formerly housed the Philly Grill is being renovated to become the new concession stand. The renovation uncovered some issues that will cost more than anticipated. Tax dollars are not used in the operation of the theater so the line of credit was sought. Superintendent Reiman expects the money to be paid back in 12 – 24 months.
Reiman says the theater is doing well financially. Upgrades to the electrical and plumbing are part of the renovation project.
In other business during the 30-minute meeting the Auburn School Board approved proclamations for Red Ribbon Week and American Education Week.
