(KTNC) - The state of Nebraska has canceled health alerts at three southeast Nebraska lakes.
Health alerts have been ended at Kirkman’s Cove Recreation Area near Humboldt, Swan Creek Lake 5-A at the Willard L. Meyer Recreation Area in Saline County, and at Big Indian Creek Lake in Gage County.
The alerts were put in place due to high levels of toxic blue-green algae in the lakes.
With the end of these alerts, there are currently no health alerts remaining in effect at any Nebraska lake.
Lakes at 49 parks and public recreation areas will continue to be monitored weekly for toxic blue-green algae through the end of the recreation season.
